What is Light Iron?
Light iron (also called tin cans or frag feed) is thin gauge steel under 6mm thick. It covers washing machines, fridges, filing cabinets, car body panels, and general sheet metal. This is the most common grade brought in by the public and is the lowest value ferrous grade.
Tips for best price
- Remove compressors from fridges (they contain oil and are classified separately).
- Flatten items if possible to fit more in your vehicle.
- White goods are accepted but prices are low. Only worth it in quantity or combined with other metals.
