Sell your lead for the best local price

Tell us what you have and where you are. We pass your details to a licensed UK scrap dealer near you who is buying that metal this week, and they contact you direct — so you drive once, not three times.

  1. 01

    Tell us what you have

Metal type, rough weight and your postcode. A grade helps but isn’t required.

  2. 02

We pass it to a licensed yard

Dealers licensed under the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013, buying that grade in your area.

  3. 03

    They quote, you sell

The dealer calls or emails you with a price per kg. You agree it with them direct, then deliver or arrange collection and get paid by bank transfer.

Why use us instead of ringing round?

Yard prices for the same grade can differ by 20% or more across a single city, and most dealers don’t publish what they pay. We track published prices from UK yards every day, so we know which dealers near you are paying well for lead right now — and which ones buy from the public at all.

What we don’t do. We introduce sellers to licensed dealers. We do not buy, sell, collect, transport or handle scrap metal, we do not negotiate on your behalf, and we are not party to any sale you agree. Price, collection and payment are between you and the dealer. Dealers pay us a flat fee when we introduce a seller; you never pay us anything.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this free?

Yes. Requesting quotes is free and there is no obligation to sell. You never pay us anything — dealers pay us a flat fee when we introduce a seller.

Who will contact me?

A licensed scrap metal dealer near your postcode — they contact you directly, and the sale is between you and them. We only work with dealers licensed under the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 and we share your details with at most three licensed dealers or buyers we work with, never a list.

How quickly will I hear back?

Usually within one working day. If you selected "as soon as possible" and left a phone number, expect a call rather than an email.

Do I need to know the exact grade or weight?

No. A rough weight and a short description ("old boiler and some pipe") is enough. The dealer grades and weighs it on site — that weigh-in sets the final price, not our estimate.

Can I be paid in cash?

No. In England and Wales it is illegal for scrap metal dealers to pay cash. You will be paid by bank transfer or cheque and asked for photo ID and proof of address.

Do you collect?

Many dealers collect larger loads — tick "I need it collected" and we will only pass you to dealers that offer collection in your area. Small household loads are usually better delivered to the yard.
